Simon Arzt was a Turkish tobacco plantation owner producing his cigarettes in Egypt. His portrait is presented in a round photograph: he has a beard, wears the traditional fez (red felt hat with the shape of a truncated cone) and an elegant suit. Above him appears a drawing of his manufacture in Port Said: it is situated at the corner of a main street - the Commerce street - frequented by several people. On the left top of the postcard, we can see the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Egypt under the reign of the Khedive H.H. Muhammad Tewfik Pascha. This coat of arms contains a crescent moon with three stars which apparently represent the three parts of the kingdom: Egypt, Nubia and Sudan.
