Title Avigdor Hameiri and his wife celebrating his 80th birthday at the Efal Fathershome were they live today.
Scope and content Hameiri, born in Ukraina, started to write when he was 16, with his first song 'The son of Future'. Finnishing the highschool started as a journalist in Hungarian news- papers but sent articles in Hebrew to Palestinian newspapers as well. In 1914 he volunteered to the Hungarian army fighting against the Bolshevics. He was wounded twice taken by the Soviet in prison and was sent to Syberia. In 1920 left Russia together with his wife settled in Palestine. He started working for newspapers, Theatre and strating writing book on the life in Kibbutz. His books are among many: The Fashismus, The Universum on astronomy and many other He received the Bialik Prize. Photo shows Avigdor Hameiri and wife.
