Elgen M. Long (b. August 12, 1927, McMinnville, Oregon), aviation record setter, flew around the world, crossing both poles in 1971, in the Crossroad Endeavor airplane. He has pursued a career-long mission to solve the mystery of Amelia Earhart's disappearance.
