Slaný (Czech pronunciation: [ˈslaniː] ; German: Schlan) is a town in Kladno District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 17,000 inhabitants. The town is located on the stream Červený potok in the Prague Plateau. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected as an urban monument zone.
