Heavily glaciated in the interior portions, these peaks have elevations up to 7,965 ft. The more scenic mountains are within Olympic National Park, with a perimeter of lower peaks and dense forest in Olympia National Forest. Other names that have been given are Olympus Range, Olympian Mountains, and Coast Range. Classification as a range is contested by some geographers because the mountains have no central axis. The name is for Mt. Olympus. Mount Olympus (Mount Olympus ... is the highest peak in the Olympic Range))
