It is the highest point on the east flank of Mt. Rainier with an elevation 11,117 ft. The name is from the Indian word Tahoma, which is generally thought to mean snow-covered mountain or to please Tacomans, "The Mountain that was God." Big Tahoma Peak would be Mount Rainier.)
