- The restoration of "Lawrence of Arabia" viewed April 14, 2025 via the in70mm.com WWW site(In 1986, archivist-producer Robert A. Harris contacted Columbia Pictures with a proposal to restore the original premiere version of "Lawrence of Arabia"; co-producer of the restoration was Jim Painten; the 2-year project brought together a team of Hollywood professionals including sound consultant Richard Anderson, re-recording mixer Gregg Landaker of the Goldwyn Sound Facility, two dialogue editors, scores of people at Metrocolor Labs, as well as the film's Academy Award-winning editor, Anne V. Coates, and director Sir David Lean; actors Peter O'Toole, Sir Alec Guinness, Anthony Quinn and Arthur Kennedy re-recorded missing dialogue; when finished, the film had not only been restored, it had been re-cut to Lean's specifications. After 26 years, the director had finally gotten the "fine cut" of his masterpiece)
