- Find A Grave, via WWW, February 13, 2014(Felix Vadimovich Volkhovsky; born July 6, 1846 in Ukraine; died August 2, 1914 in England; Russian Revolutionary; he studied in St Petersburg, then the capital of the Russian Empire, afterwards entering Moscow University; he became involved in revolutionary circles which led to his frequent arrests and finally he was sentenced to exile in Siberia; in prison, he began writing poetry and political essays; when the American investigator George Kennan visited Russia, Volkhovsky helped him to gather material for the book "Siberia and the Exile System," published in 1891, which became one of the greatest indictments of the tsarist regime; in 1889 he escaped Siberia traveling first to North America and then to England; in London, together with other Russian emigres he founded the Society of Friends of Russian Freedom and the periodical "Free Russia," which became the catalysts for the revolution of 1905 and led to introducing the parliament in Russia; he was also lecturing across the country, criticizing the regime but at the same time inspiring interest in its culture, history and language)
