- Wikipedia, Oct. 28, 2022:(Anthony Wayne; born January 1, 1745, in Chester County, Pa.; died December 15, 1796, in Pennsylvania; an American soldier, officer, statesman, and Founding Father of English descent; elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly and helped raise a Pennsylvania militia unit in 1775; during the Revolutionary War, he served in the Invasion of Quebec, the Philadelphia campaign, and the Yorktown campaign, and was promoted to major general in 1783, he retired from the Continental Army soon after; after the war, Wayne settled in Georgia and briefly represented Georgia in the United States House of Representatives; he returned to the Army to accept command of U.S. forces in the Northwest Indian War; Wayne died during a return trip to Pennsylvania)
