Wikipedia description:

Thilo Sarrazin (born 12 February 1945) is a German former politician, economist and author. A longtime SPD civil servant, Sarrazin was Berlin's appointed Senator for Finance from 2002 to 2009. He rose to greater prominence in 2010, when he published Deutschland schafft sich ab (Germany Abolishes Itself), a critique of Germany's post-war immigration policy and multiculturalism. The book was an unexpected bestseller, but was condemned by the SPD, which succeeded in expelling him in 2020, after a drawn-out legal battle. Since the release of Germany Abolishes Itself, Sarrazin has written several books concerning immigration and politics.
