Michael Joo is a contemporary artist known for using a combination of scientific language, processes and complex structures that speak to liminality, access, and transmission. Much like Joseph Beuys, Joo uses various media such as sculpture, photography, printmaking, and painting, further referencing cultural heritage, identity, and natural history. He also teaches at Columbia University in the MFA program.
