Bohumín (Czech pronunciation: [ˈboɦumiːn] ; Polish: Bogumin, German: Oderberg) is a town in Karviná District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 20,000 inhabitants. It is located in the Ostrava Basin at the confluence of the Oder and Olza rivers, on the border with Poland. The town is among the most important railway junctions in the Czech Republic. Among the most important monuments in Bohumín are the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary and the Church of the Sacred Heart.
