- Five Centuries Ensemble; 1971-1984; was an early music ensemble in Paris and Italy during the 1970s and early 1980s; founding members were countertenor and composer John Patrick Thomas, cellist Marijke Verberne, American soprano Carol Plantamura, and harpsichordist William Christie; in 1976 Nelson and Christie left the group and the remaining members turned more to contemporary music ( (Wikipedia, July 27, 2022) )
