- Professor J Michael Dixon (Professor Dixon's research focuses on surgical perspectives in neoadjuvant endocrine therapy of large operable and locally advanced breast cancer, particularly aromatase inhibitor treatment. Professor Dixon received his MBChB and MD degrees from Edinburgh University, and trained in breast cancer research at the University's Department of Clinical Surgery. He also has a 1st class Bachelor of Science degree in Pathology. He trained in Edinburgh and Oxford. Professor Dixon is a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of both Edinburgh and England and also an Honorary Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. Professor Dixon has published over 300 papers, contributed 120 book chapters, and written or edited 25 books. He was the inaugural Managing Editor of The Breast and the former Editor of the British Medical Journal.
