- Siegel-Schwall Band; a Chicago-based blues duo; Corky Siegel and Jim Schwall formed the band in the mid-'60s in Chicago, house band at Pepper's Lounge; Siegel played harp and electric Wurlitzer piano, with an abbreviated drum set; Schwall played guitar and mandolin; both sang; released their first album in 1966, did five with the Vanguard label; bass player Jack Dawson, formerly of the Prime Movers Blues Band, joined the band in 1967; in 1969 they played Fillmore West, blues/folk festivals, etc., introducing the blues genre to many during that era; first blues band to play with a full orchestra, San Francisco Orchestra (1968); later signed with RCA; broke up in 1974; reformed in 1987, still gets together and performs on rare occasions; The Siegel-Schwall Reunion Concert, in sign in reproduced photograph ( (AllMusic website, viewed Jan. 23, 2018) )

The Siegel–Schwall Band was an American electric blues band from Chicago, Illinois. The band was formed in 1964 by Corky Siegel (piano, harmonica, vocals) and Jim Schwall (guitar, mandolin, vocals). They played many live shows, and released ten albums. They disbanded in 1974. The Siegel–Schwall Band performed occasional concerts, and released two more albums, from 1987 to 2016.
