Alain Ducellier (5 May 1934 – 29 September 2018) was a French historian and professor emeritus at Université de Toulouse-Le Mirail who specialized in Byzantine studies and Christianity in the middle east. He was the author or editor of more than 40 books. In 2004, a symposium was published in his honor: Byzance et ses périphéries : hommage à Alain Ducellier He retired in 2003, and died on 29 September 2018 at the age of 84.
