- Petrus Scriverius (or Pieter Schrijver), born Amsterdam, January 12, 1576, died Oudewater, April 30, 1660, was a Dutch antiquarian and philologist. He lived most of his life as an independent scholar in Leiden. Scriverius was one of the first antiquarians in the Netherlands. He was particularly interested in the history of Holland. He was also involved in publishing classical writers. Scriverius collected manuscripts by Neo-Latin authors from his own time and from the early humanist period.
