The Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, now formally known as the Tisch Family Zoological Gardens in Jerusalem, was founded in 1940 in Jerusalem and is dedicated to collecting animals of Israel, especially those mentioned in the Bible, and to conserving and protecting wildlife.
