Description Discusses the fate of 2,000 Jewish converts to Christianity who were in Warsaw during the Holocaust. There were two Christian communities in the ghetto: All Saints, which consisted of intellectuals who converted before the war, and St. Mary's Nativity, which consisted of workers who converted during the war. States that members of the first community were more antisemitic, but the Jews in the ghetto avoided contact with both communities. The fact that the converts were better off because they received economic aid from the Catholic Church further alienated them from the other Jews. Most of the converts were deported and killed in 1942
only a small number managed to escape to the "Aryan side" before the liquidation of the ghetto. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism - The Hebrew University of Jerusalem)
