Description
The file is divided into three parts. The first part contains correspondence between Solomon Sassoon and Eliyahu Eliachar in Jerusalem about helping Iraqi Jews in Israel adn the Alliance Trade School (1950-1951). The second part contains correspondence between Solomon Sassoon and Alexander Marx, the librarian at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York. The letters relate to Sassoon's offer to provide the JTS with microfilms of rare Indian periodicals published in Bombay and Calcutta, copies of manuscripts ordered by Sassoon from the JTS collections, Marx's request that Dr. M. Zucker be allowed to use Sassoon's library and the publication of an article by Sassoon (1949-1953). The last part contains correspondence with the printers, McCorquodale about printing facsimile plates from the Farhi Bible (1959-1961).
