Natan Sharansky (1948-), served as a Member of the Knesset and Minister of the Government of Israel and as Chairman of the Jewish Agency. Known for being a prisoner of Zion and denied a Soviet aliyah. The archive includes documentation of his trial and imprisonment, publications and correspondence created as part of the "Shomer Achi Anochi" association and various associations designed to promote the release of Sharansky and other prisoners of Zion, personal correspondence of Sharansky, and official correspondence, within his various positions in the Knesset, government and Jewish Agency.

הארכיון כולל תיעוד מלא על משפטו ומאסרו של נתן שרנסקי גזרי עיתונים, פרסומים והתכתבות שנוצרה במסגרת פעילות האגודה "שומר אחי אנוכי" והתאגדויות שונות שנועדו לקדם את שחרורם של שרנסקי ואסירי ציון אחרים, ובהם יוסף ביגון התכתבות אישית של שרנסקי וכן התכתבות רשמית, במסגרת תפקידיו השונים בכנסת, בממשלה ובסוכנות היהודית וכן במסגרת פעילותו הציבורית למען עליית מסורבי העלייה מברית המועצות ושחרור אסירי ציון תעודות שונות בנוגע לפעילותו הפוליטית ולהקמתה של מפלגת "ישראל בעלייה".

Biographical summary נתן-אנטולי שצ'רנסקי נולד בברית המועצות בשנת 1948. בשנת 1971 סיים את לימודיו במכון לפיסיקה טכנולוגית בעיר מוסקבה. זמן מה לאחר מכן, החל בפעילות למען זכויות אדם בברית המועצות שהסתעפה למאבק באמצעים שונים למען אסירי ציון ומסורבי עלייה יהודים. בשנת 1977 נעצר על ידי הקג"ב והועמד למשפט באשמת בגידה וריגול. בשנת 1978 הוא הורשע בבית המשפט ונגזרו עליו 13 שנות מאסר. בשנת 1986, לאחר מאבק ציבורי ולחץ בינלאומי, שוחרר שרנסקי בעיסקת חילופי מרגלים בין ארה"ב לברה"מ, ועלה לישראל. בשנת 1988 היה בין מקימי "הפורום הציוני" ועמד בראשו. בשנת 1996 נבחר לכנסת במסגרת המפלגה שהנהיג, "ישראל בעלייה".
Ownership history הארכיון הופקד לצמיתות בספרייה הלאומית בחודש יוני 2014 על ידי מר נתן שרנסקי, ירושלים. הפקדה נוספת בחודש יולי 2018.
