Biographical summary Jesus de Galindez Suarez (Amurrio 1915 - Dominican Republic 1956), was a Basque nationalist, writer, and professor for international law at Columbia University. In 1939 he emigrated from Spain to the Dominican Republic, and in 1946 he moved to New York. In 1956 Galindez disappeared and was obviously murdered by the Dominican Trujillo regime.
Ownership history The archive was permanently deposited in the National Library in 1964 and was transferred to the Archives department in 1976.
Language Note The material is mostly in Spanish, some texts and documents are in Basque, English, and French.
