Abraham Sutzkever (1913-2010), Yiddish poet and writer, born in Lithuania in 1913. In 1941 he was involved in cultural life in the Vilnius ghetto. Then he joined the partisans who operated as part of the Red Army. Sutzkever was a communist and believed in renewing Jewish life as part of Yiddish culture. In 1947, Sutzkever immigrated to Israel. He founded the literary quarterly "Di Goldene keyt" and was one of its regular participants. In 1985 Sutzkever won the Israel Prize for Literature. Avraham Sutzkever died in Tel Aviv in January 2010. The archive includes personal certificates, manuscripts, books, exhibition materials for the seventieth anniversary, photographs and more.

Biographical summary משורר וסופר יידיש, נולד בליטא 1913. ב 1941 היה מעורב בחיי התרבות בגיטו וילנא. אחר כך הצטרף לפרטיזנים שפעלו במסגרת הצבא האדום. סוצקבר היה קומוניסט והאמין בחידוש החיים היהודים במסגרת תרבות יידיש. ב 1947 עלה סוצקבר לארץ ישראל. יסד את הרבעון הספרותי " די גאלדענע קייט" והיה ממשתתפיו הקבועים. בשנת 1985 זכה סוצקבר בפרס ישראל לספרות. אברהם סוצקבר נפטר בתל אביב בחודש ינואר 2010.
