The National Library APIs provide a way to search for, and retrieve information - including simple and easy retrieval of digital copies (images, video and audio) by streaming directly to the end user. The APIs are compliant with international standards for open data.

The Search API provides a way to search on the National Library of Israel collections. It returns metadata to explore media, digital and non-digital objects, by searching and filtering results.
The IIIF Presentation API gets metadata to describe a digital object that may contain hundreds of images. The URI specify the RecordId of the digital object. The user and the viewer software can then successfully navigate the object.
The IIIF Image is a RESTFul API that returns an image in response to a standard HTTP request. The URI can specify the region, size, rotation, quality characteristics and format of the requested image.
