  • השיר "אצלנו בכפר טודרא" שכתב יהושע סובול והלחין שלמה בר מתאר את טקס כניסתם של הילדים אל ראשית החינוך בכפר הדמיוני טודרא שבהרי האטלס במרוקו. בהגיעם לגיל חמש, אולי בעקבות קביעתה של מסכת אבות "בן חמש למקרא" (ה, כא), היו מכתירים את הילדים בזר פרחים, עורכים חגיגה גדולה ומביאים אותם יחד עם שאר הילדים אל בית הכנסת. בבית הכנסת היו כותבים את אותיות האל"ף בי"ת בדבש ונותנים ל"חתן השמחה" ללקק את טעמה המתוק של התורה (מעניין שמנהג דומה התקיים גם בתפוצות אחרות).

    סובול כתב את השיר כחלק מן העבודה על המחזה "קריזה (אנשים במצוקה)" בשנת 1976, וכך הוא מספר: "בשנת 1976 ערכתי תחקיר לקראת כתיבת מחזה על שכבות המצוקה בישראל, ובמסגרתו ראיינתי אנשים רבים בעיירות פיתוח ובשכונות, ובין השאר, גם בטירת הכרמל. באחד הראיונות אשה סיפרה לי את הסיפור, פחות או יותר במלים של השיר. אני זוכר אשה בשמלה כחולה. התרשמתי מהסיפור, וכשחזרתי הביתה, ישבתי ורשמתי את הדברים ומיד הצטייר לי השיר, והעליתי אותו על הנייר" (מתוך "שיר של אשה בשמלה כחולה", מסע אחר). שלמה בר הלחין את השיר עבור המחזה, ומאוחר יותר הוא הוא נכלל באלבום הבכורה של להקת "הברירה הטבעית" 'אלי שורשים', יחד עם שיר נוסף של סובול, 'ילדים זה שמחה'.

    'אצלנו בכפר טודרא', שיר שמתאר רגע מרגש ומוכר גם עבור מי שאינם מכירים את הטקס המתואר בו, הפך לנכס תרבותי־ישראלי משותף. הוא שותף לעיצובם של טקסי ראשית חינוך וקריאה ופעמים רבות הוא מושר או מושמע בהם.
