  • • רַֽחֶם־נָא קְהַל עֲדַת יְשֻׁרוּן – עדת ישורון הוא כינוי לישראל, המשורר מבקש מהאל רחמים.
    • סְלַח וּמְחַל עֲוֹנָם – סלח ומחל לעוונות שלהם, לחטאיהם.
    • וְהוֹשִׁיעֵֽנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵֽנוּ – לפי דברי הימים א' טז, לה. אלהי ישענו – אלוהים המושיע אותנו, שממנו באה ישועתנו.
    • שַׁעֲרֵי שָׁמַֽיִם פְּתַח. וְאוֹצָרְךָ הַטּוֹב לָֽנוּ תִפְתַּח – לפי דברים כח, יב. הפסוק המלא עוסק בברכת הגשם ולכך נפתחים שערי השמים. כאן ההקשר הוא של פתיחת שערי השמים לתפילה לפני נעילת השערים שבסוף יום כיפור.
    • תּוֹשִֽׁיעַ וְרִיב אַל־תִּמְתַּח – אל תדון אותנו לפי ריבך איתנו. אולי לפי הושע ד, א: "כִּי רִיב לַיהוָה עִם יוֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ כִּי אֵין אֱמֶת וְאֵין חֶסֶד וְאֵין דַּעַת אֱלֹהִים בָּאָרֶץ".
