Handwritten poem composed in honor of the dedication of a Torah scroll by David Jehiel ibn Porat b. Judah on the first night of Shavuot 5470 (June 3, 1710) to the Italian-rite synagogue in Padua. Shavuot was considered a particularly appropriate occasion for the donation of Torah scrolls, as the holiday itself celebrates the Giving of the Torah to the Children
