تأليف الشيخ شهاب الدين ابي الدر ياقوت بن عبد الله الرومي المولد الحموي نسبة لمولاه عسكر الحموي ("الحموي المولد" عند ابن خلكان تصحيف "الحموي بالولاء/ الحموي مولاه" !) البغدادي الدار المتوفى سنة 626 هجري/ 1229 بظاهر حلب الشهباء. اول النسخة: "الحمد لله الذى جعل الارض مهادا والجبال اوتادا الخ"؛ فأول المعجم بذاته في جزء 1 صفحة 27أ؛ جزء 4 صفحة 305ب: آخر الكتاب, وفي الهامش تاريخي المقابلة مع نسخة باريس 16.Dec.1864 ونسخة اكسفورد 9.Oct.1872؛ صفحة 306أ-377ب: "زيادات" على نسخة برلين, قد اوردها ضمن الطبعة. في الهوامش تصحيحات ولغات منقولة من نسخ مختلفة حين مقابلتها وكذلك ملاحظات متنوعة. The National Library of Israel Jerusalem Israel Ms. Ar. 317 أوراق غربية حديثة. نسخة بخط الاستاذ العلامة هينريخ فردينند فيستنفلد /Wüstenfeld, H.Ferdinand (1808-1899, v.: Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie LV 139-140 )؛ قارن خطه في لوحات جزء 1 من طبعة معجم البلدان بتحريره سنة 1866 ميلادي)، ابتدأ كتابتها في يناير 1861ميلادي واتمها في اواخر تلك السنة (انظر مقدمته للطبعة المذكورة جزء 1 p.8) وذلك في مدينة غوتينغن (Göttingen) الالمانية؛ 4 مجلدات |
