في اصلاح الاخلاق وتهذيب النفوس وضعه بيدبا الفيلسوف راس البراهمة لدابشلم (خ "ديشلم") ملك الهند وهو كتاب على ألسنة البهائم والطيور تنزيها للحكمة من نوادر الحكايات، ولما سمع خسرو انوشيروان (531-579م) عن كتاب كليلة ودمنة ارسل برزويه الحكيم الى بلاد الهند فاستخرجه منها ونقله من الهندية الى الفارسية الپهلوية، ثم ترجمه في الاسلام عبد الله روزبه بن دادويه الشهير بابن المقفع (قتل سنة 139هجري/ 756 غالبا) من الفارسية الى العربية. نسخة مشرقية تمت كتاباها في 3 ربيع الأول 1250هجري/ 1834 اول النسخة: "الحمد لله المنعم بفضله ونعمه على كافة خلقه ... هذه مقدمة كتاب ... كليـ(ـلـ)ـه ودمنه قدمها ابن اسحاق الفارسي الخ". صفحة 160أ: كتابة بالقلم المشجر.
