Cette version du livre d'Esther, la meguilah salmantina, est l'œuvre d'un nouveau chrétien de la ville de Salamanque au milieu du XVe siècle. Il reproduit fidèlement le récit en Ladino que lisaient les Juifs sépharades au Moyen-Âge lors de la fête carnavalesque de Pourim. Son style hautement poétique, encore largement accessible aux hispanophones, naît de la rencontre du castillan ancien et de l'hébreu biblique. Il est publié dans une version bilingue traduite en français par Julia Chardavoine et illustrée par Maeva Rubli. Notes et postface du professeur Carlos Sainz de la Maza.
