Ethiopic Paradigms' provides a systematic presentation of the morphology of the Classical Ethiopic language (also known as Ge'ez). Ethiopic is a crucial language for those interested in the history of Christianity and of Judaism, in Africa and the broader Near East during Late Antiquity up through the Medieval period, as well as in Semitic languages and linguistics. Ethiopic preserves a large corpus of texts, including especially Christian literature of various genres, such as chronicles, hagiography, homilies, liturgy, philosophy, poetry, and theology. In addition, several significant texts stemming from Second Temple Judaism, in particular the books of Enoch and Jubilees, are preserved in Ethiopic. This pedagogical aide is a useful resource for students who are just starting to learn Ethiopic as well as for more advanced students who need to review a form or paradigm. Among its distinguishing characteristics, 'Ethiopic Paradigms' is unique in presenting the morphology of Ethiopic both in transcription and in script.
