"ארוע מכונן בין מדובבת העצירים הבטחוניים ליבי בן-חיים לעציר הבטחוני אדיב מליחאת דוחף את ליבי לבלות את חופשת-השחרור שלה במסע מטלטל לתוך חייה הסודיים של אווה חיימזון, רקדנית וכוריאוגראפית שהגיעה לארץ-ישראל כחלוצה צעירה לפני ארבעה דורות, ובסיום יומנה כתבה על נינתה: ״ליבי היא אני״. הרפתקאותיה של אווה הסוערת והמסעירה, שטילטלו אותה בין הקיבוץ שלה לברלין של שנות השלושים הראשונות, מרתקות את ליבי ומעוררות אותה להתלוות בדמיונה היוצר למסעותיה הרומנטיים והיצירתיים של אווה, במסע שחושף שרשרת ארועים ורגעים דרמטיים בקרב ארבעה דורות של בני שושלת בן-חיים. גיבורות חופשת שחרור, וגם אחדים מגיבורי הרומן רחב היריעה של יהושע סובול, מגיעים לצמתים גורליים בחייהם. לרגע ניתנת להם הזדמנות להשתחרר מהשגרה שהשתלטה על חייהם, שגרה שהתקיימה מכוח כניעה למוסכמות, הונאה-עצמית, ושקרים שבין אדם לחברו. הרומן פוגש אותם בצומת זה על סף הכרעות גורליות, שכמוהן פגשה אווה בצעירותה, כשקמה ונטשה את אירופה פעמיים, ועשתה את הבחירות הגורליות בחייה." - כריכה אחורית.
