Memoirs of Rami (Roman) Kalyorysky, born in 1929 in Łomża, Poland; pp. 31-71 relate his experiences in the Holocaust. Describes the German occupation in June 1941, after which he and his parents were interned in the ghetto. In October 1942 the ghetto was liquidated, and his father was sent to a labor camp and perished. He and his mother posed as non-Jews, and his mother worked on an estate that belonged to his father's former boss. Helped by a German worker, Adolf Hermann, they fled to Germany and lived in various places. Hermann married Kalyorsky's mother, and adopted Kalyorsky after the war. The family emigrated to Eretz Israel in 1947. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism - The Hebrew University of Jerusalem)
