Memoirs of a Jew born in Budapest in 1934; pp. 47-143 describe the Holocaust in Hungary and his own experiences. In summer 1941 one of his sisters was expelled with her husband and young son to Kamenec-Podolsk in Galicia; they were killed in a massacre with ca. 25,000 other Jews on 27-28 August. Presents documents with Hebrew translation cocnerning the expulsion and massacre. After the German occupation in 1944, Weiss, his parents, and three of his siblings were forced to leave their apartment and move into a "Jewish house". Later they were interned in the ghetto, where they were liberated. The family emigrated to Israel between 1946-51, Weiss himself in 1949. His oldest brother, who had been taken for forced labor, was killed in March 1945. Stresses the collaboration of the Hungarian authorities, police, and army in the Holocaust.
