Greek and Latin on opposite pages. Sanchuniathon is cited by Philon of Byblos as his ancient Phoenician authority for his Phoinikika, including Phoenician mythology. Once suspect as a forgery, his claim is now supported by the evidence of the Ugarit texts.--Oxford Classical Dictionary. Extensive fragments of Philon have been preserved by Eusebius in his Praeparatio evangelica.--Oxford Classical Dictionary. Includes bibliographical references.
