בספר ילדים סיפורה של חנה גפרית, החיה כיום בתל-אביב.מתאר את ילדותה בפולין בתקופת הכיבוש הנאצי. בחוברת למורה מוצעים עיבודים פדגוגיים-דידקטיים לספר הילדים. העיבודים מעוגנים בתפיסה חינוכית המתווה קווי יסוד להוראת השואה לתלמידים בבית הספר ה ; Memoirs of Gofrit (née Hershkowitz), written by Naomi Morgenstern, intended for children, relating Gofrit's experiences in the Holocaust. She was born in Biała Rawska, Poland, in 1935. In 1941-42, she and her parents went into hiding, at first together in a farmhouse. After several months they separated. Hannah and her mother were hidden by a Polish family named Skowronek, in Warsaw. Her father was later caught by the Germans while hiding in a forest and murdered. Hannah and her mother survived; her mother remarried after the war, and the family emigrated to Israel in 1949.
