Biographical or Historical Data
Chartiers Improvement Company was incorporated by a special act of the Pennsylvania Legislatue of April 9, 1872. Its name was changed to Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company by resolution of stockholders on June 13, 1889, and filed in the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on June 20, 1889. It became the Westinghouse Electric Corporation on May 10, 1945.
