Enlarge text Shrink textRecruited in Palmah, marine division, 1942 - following nautical training in Haifa port. Received instruction in navigation and boat construction. Sent to Italy to accompany boats. Discusses: capture of boat by British, 1946; why Amiram Shohat, who accompanied the boat, was not caught; return to Israel; role in bringing immigrants from Cyprus - administration (supplying food etc.), security (ensuring they not get caught); transfer to France to oversee illegal immigration, up until Independence War; involvement in capturing boats with weapons and transferring weapons to Israeli boats.
