Age 13 left Siberia for Manchuria with family. Father worked in trade. Studied in Russian school for employees of the train. Finished school 1934. Lived in Heibar in small Jewish community. Discusses: Beitar activity in Heibar; studying in medical school; large-scale Jewish emigration from China with Japanese occupation; father being accused of dealing in arms; confiscation of father's property; Soviet propaganda to join their organizations; sister who was involved in Soviet organization and was eventually killed; moving with family to Tientsin; working in Jewish hospital; marriage, 1942; emigration out of Tientsin, 1945; Aliyah with family, 1948.
