Director of the Kovno National Jewish Theatre during the Soviet Rule, 1940-41. Describes: his childhood in the village Jarasay in northern Lithuania; his arrival in Kovno in the 1930s; his work as a tailor and his involvement in administrative, cultural and dramatic activities of the left-wing union of Jewish tailors; his appointment as director of the Jewish theatre at the outset of the Soviet rule, and the administrative, artistic and other problems (including some discrimination by the Soviet leadership) that the theatre encountered; how, with the outbreak of the war, June 1941, he fled to the Russian interior and was drafted into the Lithuanian division; Jewish life in the Division. Names of actors and other cultural figures among left-wing of Kovno's Jews. Aliyah, 1971. Describes his integration, working in "Polgat and his two sons integration in Tzahal.
