Arrest for anti-Fascist activity, and acquittal, 1930. Member of Committee for the Assistance of German Jewish refugees. Founder of COMASEDIT (Assistance Committee for Italian Jews), 1938. Transfering funds of Italian Jews, abroad. Helping the San Nicandro group. Forced exile, Urbisaglia, 1940, later the Tremiti Isles. Move to Florence, 1941-1942. Him and other members of the Assistance Committee to Jews in Florence, arrested in Fossoli by SS, 1943. Escape during trip from Fossoli to Germany. Hiding in Padua, Milan, Genova and then Switzerland. Helping Italian Jews in Switzerland. Relations with the Committee for the National Liberation of North Italy. Helping Israel to purchase weapons, 1947-48. Attending Declaration of Independence of State of Israel, 1948. Reorganization of the Jewish Communities and the Union of Italian Jewish Communities. Member of the Jewish World Congress of JOINT, and of OSE.
