Born Trebishov Slovakia, 1917. When came of age for draft, taken to military labour camps, 1941. Served in army 4 years. Discusses: treatment of Jews and Gypsies in his division; uniforms; missions; treatment of Jews in Prashov, by officers and citizens; moving from army labour camp to civilian labour camp; work done; relations with local Jews and Partisans; Jewish boys in contact with Partisans; uprising, 27.8.44; boys who fought in his group; retreating from advancing Germans; contact with Germans; injury; morale of boys in his group; continued cooperation of Jews and non-Jews in army; battle in Polana village and following dispersal in small groups; being liberated, 24.2.45; how Jewish soldiers were treated by non-Jewish soldiers; returning to Trebishov with 60 other people; personal life; retrospective look at period.
