Description Describes the career of SS-captain Hans Krüger in 1941-43 as head of the Border Police Headquarters in Stanisławów. The small staff of this station organized and implemented the shooting of ca. 70,000 Jews and the deportation of ca. 12,000 to death camps. Describes the massacres of Jews in Stanisławów in 1941-42, and in Nadvorna, Tlumach, and other towns of Eastern Galicia. Concludes that the apparatus of the stationary police units in the Nazi-occupied Soviet territories bears great responsibility for the murder of Jews on the spot in many vicinities where the Einsatzgruppen failed to finish the job.
