Biographical summary |
Eva Basnizki (Jever, Germany 1933 - Bet Nekofa 5th January 2016) was an Israeli poet in German language. During the Holocaust she was hidden by her father and had to change her identity. After World War II she stayed in England for some years, and in 1955 she emigrated to Israel. After attempts to write poems in English, she returned to write in her German mother tongue. In Israel, she was member of the association of Israeli writers in German language - "Lyris". |
