The collection includes missionary journals written by different missionaries in various places in the world, official baptism forms, letters, an obituary, printed material and notes made by Jacob Wahrman on material from the London Society's archive. The reports and many of the texts have been edited to a greater or lesser extent and have date stamps on them apparently indicating either when they were edited or filed or received, since the date is usually a month after the report was filed.

The London Society for Promoting Christianity Amongst the Jews was founded on February 15, 1809 and is the oldest missionary organisation to the Jews in the world. The London Society, as it is also known, was based in London in "Palestine House" and gradually opened up branches in Europe, Russia, Africa, the Middle East and north America and Canada.
