Biographical summary |
Claude Reignier Conder (Cheltenham, England 1848 - Cheltenham, England 1910) was a British soldier in the Royal Engineer Corps, an explorer and an antiquarian. He was appointed head of Palestine Exploration Fund's survey of Western Palestine between 1872-4 and worked for the PEF from 1875-8 and in the next decade. He joined the British army expedition to Egypt in 1882 to subdue Ahmad Arabi's rebellion. |
