The collection includes four volumes (number III, VII, IX, X) containing typescripts, articles, clippings, and photographs mostly on Poznań's local history, on architecture, and on the history of it's Jewish community. The collection comprised originally ten volumes, as described in one of it.

Biographical summary Arthur Kronthal (Poznàn 1859 - Berlin 1938) was a local historian and business man in Poznań, who also functioned as city councillor and museum's director in his hometown. He published extensively on Poznań's local history, culture, and tradition. After World War I he moved to Berlin, where he lived in a retirement home.
Ownership history The four volumes were permanently deposited at the National Library in 1941 as a gift of the Sammelstelle für Bücher in Berlin.
