Biographical summary Erich Brauer (Berlin 1895 - Jerusalem 1942) was an anthropologist and among the founders of the academic anthropology in Palestine. He taught at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was a friend of Gershom Sholem.
Ownership history The diaries and their transcripts were permanently deposited at the National Library by the Israel Ethnographic Society in 1975. Prior to that, the materials have been transferred to the Society by Brauer's sister, Margarethe Heller.
