The National Library of Israel holds further archival material from Verona: in the Manuscripts Department, 16 Community registers (from 1539 to 1803) and 4 confraternity registers (from 1576 to 1865) in the Archives Department the personal archive of Rabbi David Shmuel Pardo (chief rabbi from 1824 to 1858) in the Central Archives for the History of the Jewish People, the personal archive of Rabbi Isacco Pardo (chief rabbi from 1858 to 1893) and a collection of documents, mostly in copy. The remains of the Community archive are kept in the Jewish Community of Verona other Community registers are kept in the Roth Collection at the Brotherton Library, Leeds and in the Library of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, New York. |
