Description
The collection consists of mainly Xerox copies of letters by Israeli and American well known personalities to Chayym Zeldis, copies of reviews on his books in the American press and original dust-jackets of Zeldis' books.

Biographical summary Chayym Zeldis – Jewish American author. Born in 1927 in Buffalo, New York. Lived in Israel between the Years 1948-1958, and then returned to the U.S., where he graduated the New School for Social Research. His novels and poetry books gained a few distinguished prizes. In 1985 Zeldis returned to Israel and was appointed as professor at the Tel Aviv University. Chayym Zeldis died in Ra'anana in 2008.
Ownership history This collection of photocopies and dust jackets was permanently deposited in the National Library of Israel in 1984 by Chayym Zelsis himself, along with his writings, which were donated by him to the Library.
